Replaced my kone XTD. The rubberized coating had been rubbing off on two different spots on my old XTD. The new EMP has a more durable finish which is smooth hard, not soft like the rubber coating on the XTD. I’d rather have the durability of the EMP’s UV finish over one that will turn gummy and erode away with time and sweaty hands.

I have used pretty much every major ROCCAT Kone mouse and I really enjoy the EMP. It’s a bit lighter than I am used to since it does not have adjustable weights, and the LED lighting is kinda out of date compared to other modern mice, but I absolutely love their side-clickable Titan Wheel and contour. The new optical sensor is fantastic; it took me a while to adjust coming from my XTD laser mouse, but once I got used to it I started really noticing the acceleration problems with the laser mouse. I now know why everyone is going back to Optical, it’s definitely better.

It allows me to play with a full palm grip instead of forcing an artificial claw grip like other small mice. Sensor is very good. Finally a keeper!

This is a fantastic mouse. Feels premium quality unlike the latest offerings from the other common manufacturers such as Razer and Logitech. This mouse is truly premium and feels like a luxury product. Tracking is spot on and just as good as any other 3360/66 sensor mouse I have tried including the G403 and G900. Weight is good and shape is very comfortable. I would recommend this for anyone who has 18CM or longer hands that palm grips. This mouse is designed for palm grip. Scroll wheel feels great and side buttons feel great. Main click buttons feel really nice and sort of float in the middle if you don’t click them down super hard. It has the fastest double click speed of any mouse I have tried which is great for burst firing in FPS games. Roccat’s software seems really nice and is very configurable. I also love the fact that it will audibly tell you the DPI you are on so there is no more guessing.

So close to my ideal gaming mouse, but with two flaws. First, the RGB lighting, while cool, is not even remotely color accurate. The software colors are much more vibrant and clear than what the mouse actually emits; the LED strips are washed out and dim. The other issue is that while ROCCAT’s quick shift feature is amazing, there is no dedicated button for it on the mouse so you have to give up one to set up as the quick shift button. Otherwise, the switches feel great, the buttons and mouse wheel are responsive and perfectly laid out, and the mouse is very accurate and quick.

Amazing mouse, I only got rid of this mouse because I went wireless. The mouse feels perfect in hand great weight and sensor. I had tried so many mice before I used the roccat and I heard nothing great about the company. I wish I had gotten this mouse sooner because it would have been my primary for a year at least before I made the switch to wireles.
